Madrid Barajas airport is one of the best airports I have been at. It´s well signed and easy access to subway to the ciry centre. When arriving to the airport with subway from Madrid it takes just like 5 minutes from subway station to the gate because of a fast line directly from the subway if you are just carrying cabin luggage. That is so lovely.

A warning about the train tickets at Atosha Station. There is kind of complicated to get your ticket. If you buy it online it is not enough. You have to get it in one of the selfservice machines in the stations, but there are different machines for different companies. Also there is different platforms for each company. Normally on stations there is one platform and just pick the right track. So a little confusing so be sure to have some extra time. Otherwise Renfe is a really good company and use their website for information of departures

The Capital Madrid is a very nice city and either by walking or subway you can go around easily.

The royal palace is of course a popular site and the citys many parks.

I bought a ticket to Santiago Bernabeu Stadium to see Real Madrid play in one of the most impressive arenas in the world. Just beeing in the arena is great and with 80000 other people makes it massive.

Even if you are not into fotboll it is an experience to remember, especially if there is one of the big games.

The vibrant city af Madrid is best by walking around the core of the city. Several museums depending on interest and also the large Retiro Park. The park is full of people who just want to take a rest from the busy city centre. It also has a lot of nice sights or open areas where to relax.

In Madrid you can find the large and famous Prado museum. Here you can find paintings from almost every famous artist, even a real Rembrandt on display.

I found my favourite, can you find yours?

If you just want to hang out in the city with some small tapas and a nice glass of wine with a lot of people enjoying the outside tables then you definately should take a walk to Barrio de la Latina. This is a relaxed area for an evening out with your friends and a lot of restaurants to choose from.

Every time I go to or trough Madrid I make sure to have a stop by my favorite taco restaurant "El Rey de los tacos". A small place with fair prices and good tacos.
